Abstract

The objective of this study was to design a computer system for learning sign language aimed at the Almirante Nelson educational unit, where the Scrum methodology was used for project management, working in Sprints. For the design of the research, It used a mixed methodological approach, direct observation and an interview were the techniques and instruments that allowed obtaining information that supported the need that existed in this institution. Among the results, it was found that the lack of technological tools has been one of the main obstacles that people with hearing disabilities have, especially at an early age when they learn the foreign language, this is because traditional teaching methods are not suitable. the most suitable. The implementation of a computer system to facilitate the learning of sign language allowed deaf-mute or hearing-impaired students to communicate effectively with their classmates and teachers.
