Abstract

Nowadays it is imminent the search for new products that are made from recyclable materials to help in the sustainability of our planet. This article seeks to contribute to the creation of a panel developed with materials considered waste such as sawdust and coconut fiber. The first material is used in the construction industry, and the second is an organic waste that we usually throw away. In the market there are panels that have acoustic conditions, but most of them do not come from recycling, with this innovation we seek to create a panel with similar characteristics to conventional boards, but without affecting the environment. During the manufacturing process of the panel, we experimented with several agglomerating products. Once the prototypes were finished, we carried out flexural, compression, acoustic, humidity retention and heat resistance tests. Two panels showed a behavior similar to MDF boards and the other to drywall used in interior walls. With the results obtained, we hope to encourage the wood industry to recycle sawdust and the construction sector to use materials that are friendlier to our ecosystem.
